McPherson County is full of people who have worked together over the years on various projects. They know each other and work well together but the potential was there for more. More participation. More collaboration. And that’s just exactly what happened when the development corporations in the county’s two largest towns met to determine the feasibility of working together.
Members of both groups were in agreement that working together would strengthen the individual towns and strengthen the county. By working together, they would be able to help those who live throughout the county.
Through meetings filled with open discussions, the first project selected was to submit an application for the upcoming Dakota Rising program. The group identified entrepreneurs, and the list will continue to grow. A 6-member resource team (3 from each town) was established, information was compiled, and the Dakota Rising application was submitted. Future meetings are planned for the groups.
